“The LORD is my Shepherd; I shall not want.” – Psalm 23:1
Beloved,
Do God’s promises sometimes feel delayed in your life? Do those prophecies He gave you seem far from fulfilment? Often, the more doubt creeps in, the more God reassures you through His Word and His servants that He is not a man that He should lie, nor the son of man that He should repent.
Yet, your circumstances may look completely opposite of what God has spoken, and your challenges may even intensify leaving you perplexed and helpless.
But here is your assurance: “The LORD is my Shepherd; I shall not want.” A shepherd never abandons his sheep. He knows the path, provides the pasture, and protects from every danger. Even when the journey looks dark or delayed, the Shepherd is leading you to your appointed place. His promises will be fulfilled in His time, and nothing can stop them.
What He requires from you is faithfulness, obedience, holiness, and trust. The Shepherd’s rod and staff are guiding you, His goodness and mercy are following you, and His plan for your life will not fail.
You are not forgotten. Stay close to your Shepherd, for when it is your time, nothing and no one can hinder it.
Reflection:
1. In what areas of my life do I feel God’s promises are delayed?
2. How can I choose trust over doubt when challenges intensify?
3. What does it mean for me personally that “The LORD is my Shepherd” today?
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for being my Shepherd. Even when my situation seems contrary to Your promises, help me to trust that You are leading me to the place of fulfilment.
Strengthen my faithfulness, keep me walking in obedience and holiness, and remind me that in You, I shall not want. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
