Scripture:
📖 “But the people that do know their God shall be strong and do exploits.” — Daniel 11:32b
Devotional Thought:
Beloved,
There is a profound difference between being faithful and simply being responsible. While a faithful man is always responsible, a responsible man may not necessarily be faithful. Faithfulness speaks of loyalty, commitment, and a heart aligned with God, while responsibility can merely reflect outward duty or performance.
In today’s fast-paced, service-oriented Christian walk, many have mistaken activity for intimacy. But God is not looking for how much we can do for Him as much as how closely we walk with Him. He desires relationship over routine and fellowship over function.
You can know about God, His works, His power, even His Word, and still not know Him personally. The world knows about God. Even demons believe and tremble (James 2:19). But it is only through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ that we come to truly know God. This is where transformation begins.
Knowing God means you value your time in His presence, you honour His Word in your decisions, and you walk in obedience even when no one is watching. It means your confidence in Him is not shaken by unanswered prayers, delays, or trials. When you truly know God, your challenges do not define who God is to you. Your revelation of who He is defines how you navigate your challenges.
God is calling us deeper. In this season of our church 1st Year Anniversary themed “That I May Know Him” (Philippians 3:10), He wants you to lay aside an empty religious routine and build a heart-to-heart relationship with Him. This is where strength comes from. This is where peace is found. This is where exploits are birthed.
Today’s Reflection:
Have I allowed religious activity to take the place of intimacy with God?
Do I really know God, or do I just know about Him through others?
What steps can I take to deepen my personal walk with God this month?
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for the privilege of knowing You. I repent for the times I’ve been busy doing for You without truly being with You.
Teach me to walk closely with You, to hunger for Your presence, and to live out my faith from a place of love and intimacy.
Help me to be faithful, not just responsible. Let this be my season of spiritual renewal and deeper relationship with You in Jesus’ name – Amen.
