Scripture:
“I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.” – John 15:5
Beloved,
The Bible reveals Jesus as the Saviour, the Son of God, the Way, the Truth and the Life. He is the ultimate expression of God’s love towards humanity. Salvation is therefore not found in religion, human effort or good works, but in Jesus Christ.
Romans 1:3–4, Hebrews 12:2 and 1 John 4:14 point us to the person and finished work of Jesus. He came to save humanity and reconcile us back to God. 1 Timothy 2:5 declares that there is one Mediator between God and humanity, Christ Jesus. Acts 4:12 further reminds us that salvation is found in no other name.
Jesus was, and still remains, God’s answer to humanity’s deepest spiritual problem. Through salvation, we receive forgiveness, righteousness and access to God through the Holy Spirit, who helps us understand His Word and live according to His will.
Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life” (John 14:6). He is not simply one of many options; He is the way to the Father. John 1:14 reveals that the Word became flesh and dwelt among us. God made Himself known to us through Jesus Christ.
But receiving Jesus is more than making a confession of faith. It means surrendering our lives to Him and becoming willing to embrace His values, character and ways. If Christ lives in us, His life should increasingly be seen through us.
This is why Jesus calls us to abide in Him. Salvation brings us into relationship with Christ, but abiding means remaining in that relationship. It means continually depending on Him, listening to His Word, following His ways and allowing His Spirit to transform our lives.
A branch cannot produce fruit by itself. It must remain connected to the vine. In the same way, we cannot live a fruitful Christian life disconnected from Jesus.
Jesus is our Saviour, our source, our strength and our life. Remain in Him, depend on Him, follow Him and allow His life to produce fruit through you.
As we abide in Christ, may His character, love, values and nature be revealed through us, so that those around us may see Jesus in the way we live.
