Wisdom for Living: Embracing God’s New Beginning

Scripture:

“Be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.” – Matthew 10:16

Beloved,

One of the greatest expressions of wisdom is knowing when God is leading you into a new season and having the courage to let go of the old.

Many people desire a new beginning, yet remain attached to past mistakes, hurts, disappointments, fears, or even past successes. While God desires to do a new thing, they struggle to move forward because they are holding on to what He is asking them to release.

Through the prophet Isaiah, God declared, “Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing” (Isaiah 43:18-19). Wisdom learns from the past but does not live in it. It recognises that yesterday’s experiences are lessons, not destinations.

A new beginning often requires the closure of an old season. God may be calling you to let go of old mindsets, unhealthy habits, bitterness, unforgiveness, or limiting beliefs so that you can embrace His purpose fully. The Apostle Paul understood this when he spoke of forgetting what was behind and pressing forward to what lay ahead (Philippians 3:13-14).

However, trusting God for a new beginning is not a call to passivity. Continue to pray, study God’s Word, grow, prepare yourself, and remain faithful. Wisdom understands that while God controls the timing, we are responsible for our preparation.

If life has not unfolded according to your expectations, remember that God is not slow concerning His promises. He makes all things beautiful in His time (Ecclesiastes 3:11). Your destiny is not defined by your past but by God’s purpose for your life.

As you walk with God, may He grant you the wisdom to let go of what is behind, embrace what He is doing today, and step confidently into the new beginning He has prepared for you.
