Obedience and The Right way

Scripture:

“ If you are willing and obedient, You shall eat the good of the land;” – Isaiah 1:19

Beloved,

In Psalms 32:8, divine guidance is reserved for those who are willing to follow. God does not merely show the way; He instructs, teaches, and guides His people in the right way. However, guidance and obedience are inseparable.

You cannot walk in God’s way while ignoring His instructions. In our generation, obedience has been redefined, and grace is often misunderstood.

Many believers desire God’s direction, favour, and blessings but resist His authority and standards. Some selectively obey Scripture accepting what is convenient and ignoring what challenges their lifestyle.

Yet grace was never intended to excuse disobedience; it was given to empower us to live rightly before God.

Jesus affirmed this truth in Matthew 5:17, declaring that He did not come to abolish the Law or the Prophets but to fulfil them. This means God’s Word remains relevant, authoritative, and binding.

Walking in the right way requires alignment with the whole counsel of God, not selective obedience. Obedience is not optional; it is a divine command with consequences and rewards.

Partial obedience is still disobedience. True obedience is doing what God says, the way He says it, and when He says it regardless of personal feelings, social pressure, or circumstances.

Often, obedience will contradict human wisdom, personal experience, or cultural norms, but it will always align with God’s will.

The right way is not always the easy way, but it is the safe way. When we choose obedience, we place ourselves under God’s guidance, protection, and divine intervention.

God fights the battles of those who walk in obedience and orders the steps of those who submit to His Word. Disobedience, on the other hand, leads to confusion, delay, and unnecessary struggles.

As we journey through this year, let us make a conscious decision to walk in the right way through complete obedience. Remember, you cannot correct disobedience by walking in disobedience. What you sow, you will surely reap.

Prayer:

Lord, I surrender my will to You. Teach me Your way and give me a heart that delights in obedience.

Help me to follow Your instructions without compromise.

Guide me with Your eye and order my steps in the right way in Jesus’ Name, Amen.
