Scripture:
“Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.” – Galatians 5:1
Beloved,
There is a powerful shift that happens in the life of a believer when we truly understand the meaning of Christ’s final words on the cross: “It is finished.” These words were not spoken in weakness, but in authority. They were not a sigh of resignation, but a declaration that every requirement for our redemption had been fully accomplished. Sin was paid for, the power of death was broken, and every work of the devil was defeated.
To stand on the finished work of Christ is to live from a place of rest and confidence, not anxiety and striving. It means recognizing that we are not trying to win a victory that is uncertain, but enforcing a victory that is already secured. Too often, believers approach spiritual warfare as though the outcome is still in question. But the truth is that Jesus has already triumphed over principalities and powers, openly displaying His victory over them.
This understanding transforms how we engage in spiritual battles. We do not fight for victory; we fight from victory. Our position in Christ is one of authority, not defeat. When we confront challenges, whether they are persistent patterns, oppression, or limitations, we do so with the assurance that the power behind those things has already been broken. What remains is not to defeat the enemy again, but to enforce what Christ has already accomplished.
Demonic patterns often attempt to persist through deception, fear, or ignorance. But when the light of truth shines, their hold is broken. As we stand firm in faith, refusing to yield to lies and consistently aligning ourselves with God’s Word, we begin to see the manifestation of the victory that is already ours. Freedom, then, is not something we beg for; it is something we walk in and maintain by standing firm in Christ.
The finished work of Christ calls us into a life of boldness and assurance. It invites us to rise above fear and uncertainty, and to take our place in Him. As we grow in the knowledge of what He has done, our confidence deepens, and our lives begin to reflect the reality of His victory.
Today, let your heart be settled in this truth: the battle has already been won. Stand firm, walk boldly, and enforce your victory in Christ.
