Scripture:
“When Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, ‘It is finished!’ And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit.” – John 19:30
Beloved,
In a world full of noise, opinions, and spiritual confusion, one truth must remain unshaken: to truly know Jesus Christ especially in His crucifixion is the foundation of our faith and the anchor of our salvation.
In these times, it is more critical than ever to know God personally, not merely through religion or tradition, but through a living and transformative relationship with Jesus Christ.
As we journey through the second quarter of 2026, it is necessary to pause and reflect deeply: Do I truly know Jesus, and is He genuinely at the centre of my life and pursuit?
When Jesus declared, “It is finished” on the cross, He was not expressing defeat but announcing the completion of the greatest victory in history. Through His sacrifice, the power of sin was broken, redemption was secured, and the way back to the Father was opened.
To know Jesus and Him crucified is to understand the very essence of our faith. It is to embrace not just the story of the cross, but the power and reality of what was accomplished there.
The Bible makes it clear that knowing God goes beyond religious activity, it is about a living, personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Many today appear spiritual, even scripturally knowledgeable, yet lack the transforming power of Christ. As written in 2 Timothy 3:5, they have “a form of godliness but deny its power.”
The Bible warns us that in the last days many will appear godly outwardly, yet lack the true power that comes from a genuine relationship with Christ. This is the reality of our time. There are counterfeit ministers, members, and deceitful workers, some even deeply versed in Scripture, yet disconnected from the truth they proclaim.
This should not surprise us, for 2 Corinthians 11:14 reminds us that Satan himself transforms into an angel of light. Not everything that appears spiritual is from God. This is why discernment is not optional; it is essential.
The only way to stand firm in truth is to know Jesus intimately. The more you know Him, the more clearly you will recognise what is false. Jesus taught that we would know them by their fruits, meaning that truth is revealed not only in words but in the evidence of a transformed life. A genuine relationship with Christ produces character, purity, love, and obedience.
Yet, this knowledge does not come casually. It is cultivated through time spent in the Word, through prayer, and through daily surrender. The Bible is the Word of Truth, and it is only by abiding in it that we become grounded and unshakable. Without this, even sincere believers can be misled. Jesus warned in Matthew 24:24 that even the elect could be deceived if they are not watchful.
Beloved, heaven is our home. Let eternity shape your decisions, your priorities, and your devotion. Fix your gaze on Jesus Christ, especially on His finished work on the cross. In Him is truth, in Him is life, and in Him is victory.
May your heart continually hunger to know Him more, not superficially, but deeply and truthfully. Remain rooted in Him, anchored in His Word, and guided by His Spirit. We shall not miss heaven in Jesus’ Name, Amen.
Happy New Month!
